Advent Trip to Matanzas, Cuba
Advent Trip to Matanzas, Cuba
The commitment deadline for this trip is August 1.
Groups from Pullen have been visiting our beloved sister church in Matanzas, Cuba since the mid-90s. This year has been particularly challenging for our friends in the Primera Iglesia Bautista community, and we’re hoping a visit before the end of the year will bring extra support and comfort. Travel dates will be in early December, and commitments must be made by August 1. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Jill Hinton to ask questions or get more information.

Volunteer Childcare Workers — Luncheon Workshop
Volunteer Childcare Workers — Luncheon Workshop
August 10
12:15–1:45 pm in Finlator Hall
All Pullenites who work with children in church programs are invited to a luncheon workshop. The Children's Committee is sponsoring this opportunity to strengthen our programs for children at Pullen. We are fortunate to have Sandra (Sandy) Reuschling — director at BlueSprig Pediatrics and Pullen member — lead this session on effective strategies for working with all children. Sandy is a master-level behavior analyst and has worked as a special education teacher.
Lunch will be served, and childcare will be provided. Please RSVP to Tommy Cook, so we can prepare for you.

2025 Missions and Outreach Seed Grants
2025 Missions and Outreach Seed Grants
Do you volunteer for an organization that could use a little extra money? Is there an exciting social justice initiative or community project that you would like to put together this fall, but need some funding to get it off the ground?
The Missions and Outreach (M&O) Council is now accepting applications for the 2025 Seed Grants. These small grants are financial gifts intended to support Pullenites in their pursuit of a more just world. These grants also give our church a better picture of the "good trouble" our congregants are up to and all the places where our collective ministry extends. We hope to fulfill as many requests as possible, with approximately $10,000 to be dispersed in total.
All applications are due by August 31 for review by the M&O Council. You will be informed about the status of your application by the end of September. Approved grants will be dispersed in October.

Second Spaghetti Sunday
Second Spaghetti Sunday
August 24
12:15–2 pm in Finlator Hall
Our first Spaghetti Sunday in March was a huge success! Many of you learned about outside-of-Pullen groups that use our facilities. For the Second Spaghetti Sunday, we will recognize our wonderful Pullen volunteers.
You will be amazed at how many Pullenites are volunteering their time and skills to the life and ministries of our church. They help with a wide range of ministries — including Councils and Committees, spiritual formation for all ages, Round Table, building maintenance, choirs, and caring for our elders. Our volunteers’ time and energy make Pullen what it is for our family and our community.
Join us to enjoy another delicious spaghetti lunch! Hear from volunteers about what their roles mean to them. Learn about ways to volunteer and make a difference for our church and its neighbors.
Reservations are not required, and the meal is free! Childcare will be provided.
