Triangle Tenant Union Neighborhood Defense Training
March 22
5pm
Finlator Hall
Triangle Tenant Union will host a Neighborhood Defense Training on March 22 at 5pm in Finlator Hall at Pullen. This organizing training is designed to help neighbors build strong, connected communities that can respond to urgent situations and support one another.
The training comes in response to recent events, including the invasion in Minneapolis, which organizers say highlights the danger ICE poses to communities across the United States. Participants will learn about tenant unions, how to set up an alerts chat, and how to talk with neighbors to grow and maintain a local alert system. The session will include practice conversations based on real-world examples, along with tips for overcoming language barriers.
Interpretation, childcare, and snacks will be provided so that everyone can participate fully. The event is open to community members who want to strengthen neighborhood communication and collective care. Participants are encouraged to bring a notepad and a friend.
The training will run from 5pm to 7pm, with 30 minutes reserved beforehand for setup. All are welcome.
