Joys and Concerns in February
Celebrating Joys
Carolyn Sexton offers this joy: Her brother, Kent, who has pancreatic and liver cancer, is responding very well to treatment.
Kathleen McQuaid is doing well after her hip replacement.
Kevin Neiley is doing well after an ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib).
Sharron Underwood is back home after a hospitalization and has restarted her cancer treatment.
We give thanks for your generosity and commitment to this community, allowing us to pledge our 2026 budget. Well done!
Praying in Loss
We remember and pray for:
Rodger Atkins in the loss of his partner Brian Herring. A beautiful celebration of Brian’s life was held on February 14.
Peggy Korte in the loss of her husband, Chuck. Chuck’s service was postponed due to inclement weather.
James Forbes and his family. His beloved Betty died on February 6. Her service was held on February 21 at Victory Tabernacle Church in Garner.
The family of Elmer Johnson, whose beloved Elmer passed away on February 17. Elmer’s service was held at Pullen on Sunday, March 1, at 2 pm.
Praying with Our Community
We remember and pray for:
Ginny Going, who has been dealing with some GI problems and issues impacting her mobility.
Warren Chesson, who has begun radiation treatment for prostate cancer.
Bob Savage, who is in rehab after a hospitalization for pneumonia.
Della O’Neal, a friend of Bob Rodriguez, who is hospitalized with a serious infection.
Michael Watkins and Shannon Ball. Michael completed his final round of high-dose chemo and stem cell transplant. All of his cancer markers are down. He is awaiting a scan that will show whether treatment was successful,
The Anderson family. Kristen's mother, Susan Diggs, is in the hospital after suffering a stroke over a week ago. She's just 61 years old. We pray for Susan and for Kristen and her brother Robert as they navigate her care and much uncertainty about the future.
Praying for Our World
We remember those who have lost their lives at the hands of federal agents in recent weeks, and for those across the country who are working hard to protect their neighbors and our constitutional rights.
We pray for our siblings in Cuba who are dealing with a fuel shortage and fearing U.S. military action.
