Housing Options for Students Today (HOST): Program Update

  1. In our third year of operations, HOST served students from seven area colleges and universities (more students than ever before) — Gwinnett, Meredith, NCCU, NCSU, Shaw, Wake Tech, and William Peace.

2. As we enter our fourth year of supporting college students, HOST enrolled seven new students in July and August — two of these students are being hosted. So, we are on track for another record year!

3. HOST has hired our first Executive Director, KC Buchanan, MSW (they/them, he/him). As part of our Three-Year Strategic Plan, we prioritized hiring an executive director to lead the organization and focus our fundraising and community outreach efforts — expanding our capacity to serve college students. Read KC’s biography here.

4. Please join the HOST Program staff, Libby Stephens and Alden Hearn, in welcoming KC to the team. Over the next few months, HOST community partners (especially Pullenites!) will have opportunities to know KC and their vision for leading HOST into the future.
