Experience the Stones of Iona

The Isle of Iona, located off the southwest coast of Mull in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, has some of the oldest known stones on earth. A tradition of the region is to pick up stones along the shore and hold on to one that represents something you want to carry forward. Then you would toss that stone back into the water. This ritual represents something you are willing or ready to let go of or change in your life.

A group of Pullenites made a spiritual pilgrimage to Iona in May 2025 and brought back several stones. Visit the Pullen Library to see these beautiful stones. We invite you to hold one of the stones while you ponder something you might like to keep, change, or are willing to leave behind.
