Disarming Hearts: A Vigil of Remembrance following Guns to Gardens

June 13, 2026

Guns to Gardens: 11am–2pm

Disarming Hearts: 4–5pm

Pullen Mission & Outreach Council is supporting these events. The program draws inspiration from the biblical passage Isaiah 2:4, which speaks of beating swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks, signifying a transformation from warfare to agriculture.

Disarming Hearts: A Vigil of Remembrance (4–5pm) is a service of prayers, songs, and readings for survivors of gun violence and all who care about gun violence prevention. You can also choose to visit a forge there to hammer dismantled gun parts to help turn them into garden tools.

Guns to Gardens: A Gun Safe Disposal Event takes place earlier that day from 11am to 2pm. The event is free, safe, and anonymous — participants never leave their cars. Gift cards up to $200 are offered while supplies last.

All are welcome. For more information, visit upucc.org/announcements/guns-to-gardens/.
