Day Trip to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum (Greensboro)

The Committee on Becoming an Anti-Racist Congregation is sponsoring this day trip. The museum is in the former Woolworth's building where the historic 1960 sit-ins began, helping to spark a nationwide movement for civil rights. The trip will include a train ride to Greensboro, group lunch at a restaurant, and guided tour of the museum.

 

Trip Schedule

 

10 am

Train departs from Raleigh Union Station. You will purchase a round-trip ticket—$16 each way. Paid parking.

 

10:12 am       

Train departs from Cary Station. You will purchase a round-trip ticket—$12 each way. Free parking.

                    

11:33 am        

Arrive from Raleigh or Cary and walk together to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum (7-minute walk).

 

12–1 pm        

We will have lunch together in the vicinity.

 

1 pm

Signature Staff-Guided Tour (60-75 minutes). Adults—$20; K–12—$15 (recommended for grades 7 and up; other options are available for younger children. (Judy Willians is to be paid directly.)

                       

3:54 pm

Train departs from Greensboro Station. Arriving in Cary at 5:20 pm; Raleigh at 5:36pm.
