Niyah Murphy, Communications Director

Niyah was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, with family roots throughout Eastern North Carolina. She grew up in the Baptist Church and spent a lot of time attending church, which has shaped her outlook on service and justice. Niyah graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2025, where she studied Biology with concentrations in Public Health and Marketing. Throughout her undergraduate career, she worked in digital communications, creating content and connecting people with information through social media, newsletters, websites, and other digital platforms. She was especially excited to join Pullen Memorial after seeing the welcoming philosophy and atmosphere the church has created for its community. Niyah is passionate about bridging gaps through strategic communication. Outside of work, Niyah enjoys cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
