Supporting Michael Watkins Through Cancer Treatment

In early 2025, Michael Watkins was diagnosed with testicular cancer. From May–July, he underwent four rounds of chemotherapy. At the end of August, Michael’s CT scan was clear, and he was declared cancer-free. However, scans in October showed that the cancer had returned with a new tumor in his lungs. From now through the end of February 2026, Michael must undergo high-dose chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. So he will spend the holidays in the hospital.

Michael and his wife, Shannon Ball, have listed some tangible ways that we can support them in this journey:

  • Cash donations for expenses like gas, food, bills, long-term hospital parking, and medical expenses not covered by insurance

  • Amazon, Visa, and DoorDash gift cards.

You can make these donations through Michael and Shannon's MealTrain page.

In addition, the couple has an Amazon Wishlist of items to promote Michael's healing. And donations can also go to Tulip Cleaners, a very helpful cleaning service, as they focus on Michael's care.

Beyond the tangible gifts, Michael and Shannon believe in the power of prayer and are strengthened by your notes of encouragement in cards and text messages. You can find the couple’s contact information in the church directory on Realm.
