Summer Sunday Series
Our Life Together @ PMBC
Our Summer Sunday Group Series will feature “our life together.” I often get asked by other clergy and church people the question: What’s going on at Pullen? There is so much going on that I sometimes struggle to know where to begin. Our congregation is engaged in so many aspects of what it means to be people of faith both in the church and in our community. We have educational programs that engage our minds around theology and faith formation. Many of our members are focused on our social justice witness. Still others, like those on the anti-racism task group, are helping us think about what reconciliation looks like when it comes to racial justice. The Stewardship Committee leads us in conversation about generosity with our lives and our resources. Pullen Deacons hold the big picture around vision and future related issues. And, finally but not last, so many are involved in our worshipping life – staff, choirs, musicians, lay liturgist, children, youth, everyone who participates in worship.
This summer we will explore six areas of “our life together." Presentations will vary in style and content, and all will be engaging, leaving us with a broader and deeper understanding of what is going on at Pullen. Here is the line up.
June 7 & 14 – Our Theological Life: Issa Farhoud
June 21 & 28 – Our Reconciling Life: Anti-racism Task Group
July 12 & 19 – Our Justice-Love Life: Chalice Overy
July 26 & August 2 – Our Generosity Life: Stewardship Committee
August 9 – Our Worshiping Life: Nancy Petty
August 16 & 23 – Our Future Life: Deacons
I hope you will mark your calendars and join your fellow Pullenites this summer as we explore our life together. In the process we all might learn something that we didn’t know.
-Nancy Petty
