Historical Oberlin Village Guided Walking Tour

April 11, 2026

10:00–11:30 am

1023 Oberlin Road

Join other Pullenites on a walking tour of Historic Oberlin Village, sponsored by Friends of Oberlin Village. Just a stone’s throw from our church building, it is the only known surviving free Black Antebellum enclave in North Carolina. At the height of its prosperity, the highly respected Village of Oberlin had more than 1,200 inhabitants before being compromised by racial injustices disguised as urban renewal progress.

The outdoor tour includes the Oberlin cemetery, historical structures, and the Latta University Historic Park, offering a meaningful opportunity to learn about this important local history and community.

Admission is free, and donations are encouraged. Sign up in Realm by April 4. All are welcome.
