Joys and Concerns in August
Celebrating Joys
· Allie, Jack, and sister Walker Pruden celebrated the birth of Vivian Elizabeth Pruden, born on August 3.
· Larry Schultz, Minister of Music, has been in ministry with Pullen for 25 years! We will mark this milestone appropriately later in September.
· Allen Page and Karen Fletcher were united in a Holy Union ceremony in Pullen Chapel on August 8.
· With great joy, we welcome our new Community Outreach Coordinator, Philemon Abel.
· We are grateful to have Frank Farmer and James Crook back in worship after orthopedic surgeries.
Praying in Loss
We remember and pray for:
· Pat Hielscher in the death of her sister, Ruth Jolly, who died on August 1 in Jacksonville, FL.
· Jim Kastner, whose sister passed away at 90 years old on July 29 in Arizona.
Praying with Our Community
We remember and pray for:
· Addison Cates, one of our childcare workers, who is recovering after surgery. We continue to pray for her as she takes a break from work and school this semester to recover.
· Gail Carson, who needs surgery for a blocked carotid artery.
· Steve Edwards, who is at home now after being hospitalized for a serious fall.
· Barbara Ann Hughes, who was recently admitted to the hospital again.
· Rege Longmire, who is at home recovering from a hospitalization to have a stent placed in a blocked artery,
· John Padgett, who has been in and out of the hospital recently.
· Reece Crampton, the 5-month-old granddaughter of Cheryl Stallings and Mark Crampton, who is recovering at home after abdominal surgery.
· Patrick Michael’s friend, Cindy Pendergraft, who is battling Stage 2 breast cancer.
· Ian McPherson, one of our former associate ministers, and Ian’s partner, Heidi, as they assist their Spokane, WA community after devastating wildfires.
Praying with Our World
We pray for our friends in Tbilisi, Georgia and Peace Cathedral. Tbilisi experienced significant flooding, and the Cathedral had substantial damage.
