Congregational Meeting

September 21 (after Worship Service)

12–12:30 in the Sanctuary

The search committee for the next Minister with Youth and Their Families is recommending Issa Farhoud as the next Minister. This recommendation comes after a four-month search process, during which several strong candidates were considered.

On September 21, we will hold a congregational meeting to vote on whether to hire Issa for the position. Youth and their parents can meet Issa during the Youth Ministry Fall Kickoff: September 3 at 6 pm in Finlator Hall. Other congregants are invited to meet Issa: September 7, 10–10:45 am in the Chapel (before the Sunday in the Park worship service).

Read the following message from Issa.

My name is Issa Michael Farhoud, and I am originally from Bethlehem. My call to ministry has led me to work with children, youth, and families in both educational and community settings, where I have served as a teacher, program director, and community leader. I am beginning to pursue my Master of Divinity degree at Duke Divinity School, where I look forward to deepening my spiritual formation. Beyond my work, I am an artist who enjoys painting, decorating, and bringing spaces to life. I also love hiking and spending time outdoors, and I am passionate about sharing my culture and history with others. I am especially excited for the opportunity to walk alongside and serve the youth at Pullen Memorial as I continue to live out my vocation for justice and compassion.
