Communion with the Wild
March 15, 2026
3–5 pm | Schenck Forest
Greetings! Come be in community, not only with other humans but with the non-human world as well. Communion with the Wild is a time to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with creation.
The gathering will begin with a grounding meditation, followed by 30 minutes of silent solo wanders or sedentary meditations in the forest. We will then reconvene as a group to share our experiences (only if desired) and end with prayer.
We will meet at Schenck Forest. Turn off Reedy Creek Road onto State Farm Road. The gate into Schenck Forest is on State Farm Road, and parking is on the street in front of the gated area that leads into the park. Stakes with yellow ribbon will guide you beyond the gate to the big old white oak and the only pavilion in the park.
Please arrive at 2:45 pm so we can promptly begin at 3 pm.
What to bring: a portable chair, walking stick (if useful), water, layered clothing, sturdy shoes, and an offering to the land (a poem, song, tobacco, or anything that reflects gratitude).
Please RSVP so we know who to look out for. Text Karen at 919-838-9527 with questions and to let us know if you will be attending.
In peace,
Karen, Gail, and Grace
All are welcome.
