AMOS Health and Hope: Pullenites’ Travel to Nicaragua

This past November, Pullen’s delegation traveled to AMOS Health and Hope in the rural community of Bilampi, Nicaragua. Here’s their travelogue:

  • On Friday, November 7, our delegation arrived in Managua to a warm welcome from the AMOS team. We spent the weekend preparing for our projects and enjoying the Nicaraguan people and places. We delivered the beautiful baby layettes, lovingly prepared by Pullenites, young and old.

  • On Monday at 5 am, we started the 13-hour drive to Bilampi. We spent five meaningful days there, partnering with community members and being inspired by their commitment to increasing their knowledge and improving their health.

  • While in Bilampi, our team participated in the following projects: Distributing water filters, training community members in first aid, repairing doors and window shutters in the clinic, painting the clinic latrine, and clearing the grounds of overgrowth. A simple electrical system was installed in the clinic and connected to brand new solar panels and storage batteries!

  • The week concluded with a joyful afternoon of games and crafts with the children — a celebration of community and care.
