AI and the Ethics of AI: A Faithful Exploration
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping our world. From how we communicate to how we work, learn, and even imagine the future, AI is no longer science fiction—it’s part of our daily lives. But with its growing influence come questions: How do we use it responsibly? How do we navigate the good, the bad, and the uncertain? And perhaps most importantly, what role does our spirituality play in shaping our response to AI?
This fall at Pullen, we’re offering a four-week session, AI and the Ethics of AI, to explore these questions. Together, we’ll learn what AI really is today, how machine learning has evolved, and how it is already being used in ways that both help and harm — including in critical areas like the climate transition.
Guiding us will be Pullen member Andrew Hurtzel, who holds a Master’s of Analytics from NCSU and has been “AI-curious” for over a decade. Andrew brings both professional knowledge and a thoughtful curiosity about how technology intersects with spirituality.
Join us as we reflect on the promises and perils of AI, and consider how our faith might inform a more ethical and responsible approach to technology.
