Parking Suggestions
Early in 2009, Pullen Memorial Baptist Church completed a major construction project that left the church with only about 15 parking spaces on the church property. Happily, the church’s urban location and healthy working relationships with its various neighbors provides church members and visitors with parking on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. Here is a rundown of the parking options.
On-street parking on Cox Avenue
There are several spaces available on Cox Avenue for on-street parking. These spaces are immediately adjacent to the church and further south as well
The Holiday Inn Brownstone Hotel
The hotel has been very gracious in allowing Pullenites to use empty spaces on Sundays and most Wednesday evenings. However, spaces are not available at other times during the week. Pullen staff will post signs at the Brownstone entrances indicating “No Church Parking” on Wednesdays when the hotel is full. If no signs are posted, you are welcome to park in the Brownstone lot.
Lutheran Family Services
This lot surrounds the building immediately south of the church at 112 Cox Avenue and is available to church members and visitors on weekends and after hours during the week.
Vann & Sheridan Law Firm Building
The building diagonally across Hillsborough Street from the church (at 1720 Hillsborough St.) is surrounded by numerous parking spaces that are generally available after work hours during the week and on Sundays. The entrance is located behind the building on Woodburn Road, but remember that it is not church-owned parking. There are also a few on-street spaces on Woodburn adjacent to the building.
BB&T
This lot is located across Hillsborough Street from the church at the corner of Hillsborough and Oberlin Road. It is generally available after work hours Monday through Saturday and all day on Sundays. There are entrances on Hillsborough and Oberlin.
