The Pullen Memorial Baptist Church Scholarship(s) will be offered again this year. This Scholarship is need-based, and it is for seniors in high school who have been accepted to a college and current college or graduate students. The maximum amount of each scholarship will be $500. Applications are due by June 15, 2015. You may complete an application online, download a printable-version, or pick up a hard copy in the church office. All application information will remain confidential.
A lovely statement found in Archives at the time the Scholarship Fund was started in June 1981 includes these words:
Members of Pullen Memorial Baptist Church generally recognize the importance of education and career development for each individual person as it contributes to the personal growth and fulfillment of that individual, and in turn the potential contribution of the individual to the community of mankind….It is the expectation of those formulating this scholarship program that the recipients, as their career evolves, will recall the strategic assistance of Pullen Church in their career development. Hopefully such memory will encourage utilization of the training and skills so acquired to make a positive contribution to society and our world. Likewise it is anticipated that oftentimes the recipient of these funds will in years to come wish to repay those monies to the scholarship fund so as to propagate the availability of such assistance to future generations.
