Participants in Pullen’s Music Ministry groups receive periodic “Music Ministry Notes” via email. The following article is a reprint from the latest publication.
Have you seen it? Pullen recently affirmed a Five-Year Vision for our church that is inspiring! (If you’ve not read the Vision document you can find it at: www.pullen.org/vision/). Our congregation as a whole and our small groups, such as Music Ministry Groups, can find many ways to connect and engage with the “Hope in Action,” “Communications” and “Financial” statements that make up the Vision.
In fact, a Music Ministry project that has been in the planning stages for a while will wonderfully connect and be supported by the “Arts and Faith” goal. It will also help to achieve the “Presenting Ourselves to the World” part of the vision. Curious? Come to a church-wide unveiling of this project on Wednesday, March 12, in Finlator Hall at 6:30PM Chancel Choir rehearsal will start at 7:15PM that night.
This project and everything else we do as a church is supported by the “Financial” statement of the Vision. Were you a part of the recently-completed stewardship puzzle celebrating 300 pledging individuals or families? If not, it’s never too late to pledge to Pullen’s budget – let’s increase the size of the puzzle! Whether you are a longtime member or a brand new participant, it’s important to remember that the church budget provides our Music Ministry – without it there would be no anthems for choirs or instrumental pieces for orchestra, no resources for congregational music, no pencils, folders, drumsticks, or music stands, no projectors, speakers, computers and other equipment to bring the enhancements of technology to rehearsals, no choir robes and stoles, no tuning and upkeep of the church’s pianos, pipe organ and other instruments, and no salary for the church music staff! The list could go on and on.
It’s exciting to be a part of a church that would dream such a Vision! Join us in being a part of it in every way. And remember – Wednesday, March 12, 6:30PM, Finlator Hall!
