If you haven’t been in a Sunday school class and think it might be time to check it out, join us next Sunday morning, August 25 at 9:45 AM in Finlator Hall to learn what the classes will be doing this year. Representatives from each of our adult classes will share what they will be studying during the 2013-2014 Sunday school year. Light refreshments and coffee/tea will be provided.
If you are a Sunday school regular, we hope you will also join us. Sunday school classes are a great way to get to know Pullen people and stretch your mind and heart in the process. We’d love to have you join us. Childcare will be provided.
New Class Connects Faith, Politics and Culture
Theologian Karl Barth advised us to do theology with the bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. Starting with our first Sunday school session this fall on September 15, a group of Pullenites will do just that.
From 9:45-10:45 AM each Sunday, a group will gather in Finlator Hall to reflect theologically on what happened in the world the previous week. This will not be a political discussion, but rather a chance to consider how national and world events impact and are impacted by our faith. Brian Crisp, Susan Rhymer, and Mark Nance will share facilitation of this new class – which doesn’t have a name yet! All are invited to join us as we try to understand our world and our place in it as people of faith.
